Magic link sign-in

How magic links work, the 10-minute expiry, the same-device rule, and what to do when the link doesn’t arrive.

Magic Link Sign-In

esimple uses magic links instead of passwords. You enter your email, we send you a link, you tap it, you're signed in. No password to remember, no password to leak.

How it works

  1. Go to esimple.ai/account.
  2. Enter the email you used at checkout.
  3. Check your inbox. You'll get an email from us within a minute with a "Sign in" button.
  4. Tap the button on the same device you started the sign-in from. You're in.

That's it.

Why same device only

The magic link is tied to the browser session that requested it. If you start sign-in on your phone and tap the link on your laptop, the link won't work — and you'll see an "invalid link" message.

This is a security feature. It means even if someone intercepts the link (via your inbox, a forwarded email, screen recording), they can't use it from their own device.

If you want to sign in on a different device, just restart the flow there: go to esimple.ai/account on that device and request a fresh link.

How long the link is valid

10 minutes. After that, the link is dead and you need to request a new one. We keep the window short on purpose — long-lived links are a security risk if your email gets compromised.

When the link doesn't arrive

If you've waited 2 minutes and there's nothing in your inbox, run through these in order:

  1. Check spam / junk / promotions. Magic links sometimes land there, especially on Gmail and Outlook the first time.
  2. Refresh your inbox. Some clients (especially mobile) hold mail until you actively pull-to-refresh.
  3. Check the address you typed. A single typo means the email went somewhere else (or bounced).
  4. Wait another minute. Email delivery can lag, particularly on free email providers during peak hours.
  5. Try again from the same device. Requesting a fresh link is cheap and quick.
  6. Try a different network. If you're on a corporate or hotel network with aggressive filtering, switch to mobile data or home wifi.

If you've tried all of the above and still nothing, email support@esimple.ai from the address you're trying to sign in with. We can confirm whether the email is registered, whether the link sent, and what the delivery status is on our side.

Common gotchas

  • The link says "expired" but you tapped it immediately. Usually means more than 10 minutes passed between the email arriving and you tapping. Request a fresh one.
  • The link says "invalid" the moment you tap. Almost always the same-device rule — you opened the email on a different device than the one you started sign-in on. Restart the flow on the device you want to use.
  • You're getting magic links for an email you don't recognise. Someone may be entering your email by mistake. Ignore the email; nothing happens unless you tap the link. If it keeps happening, let us know.

Why no password option?

Passwords get reused, leaked, phished, and forgotten. Magic links sidestep all of that. The downside is you need access to your email — but if you don't have access to your email while travelling, that's a bigger problem than esimple sign-in.
