An eSIM is just a SIM — without the plastic.
How it works.
Inside every modern phone is a tiny chip that holds a cellular profile — your carrier’s network credentials. A physical SIM is the same chip, just on a removable card. An eSIM (embedded SIM) is that chip soldered into the phone at the factory.
When you install an esimple plan, your phone downloads a new profile and connects to a local carrier in your destination country — exactly like a physical SIM swap, but done in software. Same 4G/LTE coverage, same 5G where available, no hardware swap.

Why travelers switch.
No SIM kiosks
Skip the airport queue and the foreign-language receipt. Install at home before you fly.
No roaming bills
Local data prices, transparent in your currency, paid up front.
Keep your home line
Your physical SIM stays active for calls and texts. The eSIM is just for data.
Multiple profiles
Install several eSIMs and switch between them. Most phones hold up to eight.
Nothing to lose
No plastic card to misplace or have stolen. The eSIM lives inside the phone.
Reusable
Top up the same profile for your next trip — no fresh install, no fresh download.

Setting it up takes about 2 minutes.
Buy a plan on esimple, scan one QR code from the email we send, label the profile something memorable. That’s the whole installation. When you land at your destination, toggle the eSIM on — your phone connects to the local carrier the moment the wheels touch the ground.
Common questions.
Will the eSIM replace my home SIM?
No. The esimple eSIM is a second profile — your home SIM stays active for calls, texts, and your phone number. You use the eSIM for data while abroad.
Can I use both at the same time?
Yes. Most modern phones run two profiles simultaneously: home SIM for voice + the esimple eSIM for data. Set Cellular Data to esimple and you avoid roaming entirely.
Does the eSIM work without the internet?
Once activated, yes — the eSIM is your internet. You only need an existing connection (Wi-Fi or your home SIM) for the initial install.
What happens to the eSIM after my trip?
It sits dormant on your phone until you top up. No subscription, no auto-renewal — the profile expires when the plan runs out, and you can reinstall or delete at will.
Are eSIMs secure?
Yes. eSIM profiles use the same encrypted RSP (Remote SIM Provisioning) standard the carriers use. We do not see your traffic and we cannot read messages or calls on the line.
Ready to try it?
Most plans start at a few dollars and install in two minutes. Pick a destination and get connected before you board.
