What if my data runs out?

If you finish the data allowance on your plan before the validity ends, you have two options:

1. Top up the same eSIM — keeps your existing install, no reinstall, no new QR code. Recommended.
2. Buy a new eSIM for the same destination. Use this if you want a fresh validity window.

Topping up (recommended)

Top-ups add more data + days to the SIM you already have installed. You don't need to scan a new QR; the existing install picks up the additional allowance automatically.

To top up:

1. Open esimple.ai/account and sign in.
2. Find the order — your active SIM will have a Top up this SIM → link.
3. Pick a top-up plan (same provider as your original SIM; we filter the list for you).
4. Pay. The top-up applies within a minute.

You'll get a confirmation email when it's done. Validity restarts from the moment the top-up is applied — so if you topped up with a 5-day pack, you have 5 days from the top-up, not 5 days minus what you'd already used.

Heads-up emails

We send a notice when:

• Data drops below 20% of your plan.
• Validity drops below 2 days.

That gives you a window to top up before you're stranded.

When buying a new eSIM makes more sense

• You finished a 7-day plan and want a fresh 15-day window — sometimes a new plan is cheaper than a long top-up.
• The destination's catalog has a different plan family that's a better fit (e.g., switching from a daily-data plan to a total-data plan).

If you buy a new plan, you'll get a new QR code; install it like the first one and switch your phone's active data plan to the new eSIM.

Got the dreaded "no data" right when you need it?

If you ran out somewhere offline, the fastest path is:

• Connect to Wi-Fi (hotel, café, airport).
• From the Wi-Fi connection, open esimple.ai/account and top up.
• The top-up applies to the existing SIM, so once you're back on mobile data the new allowance is live.
